Tehos Exhibition Retrospective Metaverse 2010 - 2023

The City of Beausoleil is honored to welcome Tehos, a contemporary French artist living in Nice and internationally recognized, who unveils his retrospective exhibition of virtual worlds in the metaverse.

This exceptional event will be held at the Prince Jacques Cultural Center from June 21 to July 27, offering visitors an immersive experience at the heart of virtual worlds. Get ready to be transported to a unique artistic universe!

Tehos is a multi-talented artist who explores a variety of artistic techniques, constantly pushing the boundaries of contemporary art. From collage to painting, from photography to video, he creates inclusive and engaging works in virtual worlds.

Beyond the simple aesthetic value, he is particularly attracted by the links between language and art, thus offering a unique perspective to his creations. His work has been exhibited in many countries and has won the admiration of prestigious media. In 2020, he caused a sensation by exhibiting his works of double heads on more than 1000 screens, including several giant screens, in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The retrospective exhibition presents an innovative concept. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the Tehos art lab on Second Life through a captivating animated film and an immersive virtual tour. You will be immersed in the heart of his creative process and will be able to explore in detail his selected photographs, accompanied by detailed explanations.The screening of two films from the Tehos art lab, "The immersive suspensions" and "The kinetic trees", will offer a captivating visual experience.

He also wishes to collaborate with visual arts students to create a dialogue between young artists and his artistic universe. A similar experiment has already been successfully carried out at the Lycée Albert Premier in Monaco, where each student was able to produce a real work and benefit from a virtual exhibition on Second Life.

Avenue des Arts Gallery is pleased to announce the upcoming group show KEEP AN EYE ON THE WORLD. The exhibition presents the artworks of the two great artists:
- the painter and photograph RUBEM ROBIERB, from New York, husband of the famous American weather anchor Sam Champion, who offers a sharp and distinctive analysis of the changes that are occurring to our planet… be they by nature or by conflict.
- TEHOS who mixes painting and collage thinks about the symbolism of walls, those which surround us, protect us, but especially those which interfere with fundamental freedoms.

CONTEXT

For several months, the armed conflicts are intensifying in the world. The Middle East lives by the rythm of bombs between Israel and the Gaza strip and by the barbaric conflict in Syria and Iraq. Europe must face the war in Ukraine which opposes European and Russian diplomacy corps. Nor are Asia and Africa exempt here with political tensions and conflicts in Mali, Central African Republic, Thailand, Pakistan,…

On the anniversary of the collapse of the World Trade Center, Avenue des Arts inaugurates an exhibition asking questions on the world of the 21st century. In recent years, the world has vacillated between crises, crashes, regime dismantling and innovation, pleasure, excessive consumption; between euphoria and dismay.
The objects supposed to satisfy our desires have enslaved us in the end. From medicine to mobile phones, everything has taken an addictive turn.


About Avenue des Arts Gallery

Avenue des Arts opened its first gallery in Hong-Kong in December 2013.
Located on the 12th floor of the Hollywood Centre, in the heart of Sheung Wan, the gallery showcases solo exhibitions of emerging and established artists from all over the world. The majority of artists that we represent are French, but we also include pieces from American, Brazilian and New Zealand artists. We are offering you a chance to discover artists who work with various forms of media, from oil paintings, to sculptures, and photos.

NICE MADELEINE EXPO “COKE en STOCK” création autour de Coca-Cola

“COKE en STOCK” Création autour d’une marque c'est sous ce titre - qui évoque aussi Tintin petit reporter et le trafic d'esclaves - que LA MENUISERIE, lieu artistique créé au bd de la Madeleine à Nice par Robert Roux, s'ouvrira une EXPO regroupant 12 artistes autour de ce symbole de l'américanisme.

Depuis la naissance de "The Coca-Cola Company" le 29 janvier 1892, la bouteille et le logo de Coca-Cola sont l'expression même de la diffusion mondiale des images. Coca-cola est le champion jamais surpassé d'une communication planètaire immuable, véhiculant un logo signifiant à lui seul la vie, la fête, le féminin et le masculin enchevêtrés mais encore le dynamisme. Il n'est pas étonnant que cette "image qui a changé le monde" (selon le mot de Laurent Gervereau) ait influencé l'art depuis plus d'un siècle. La marque Coca-Cola a fasciné certains artistes pop comme Peter Blake, Tom Wesselmann et surtout Andy Warhol ou participé (et dans ce cas Coca-Cola n'a pas été le sujet principal de la composition, mais sa présence s'y est intégrée parce qu'elle est simplement partout comme en témoignent les oeuvres de Richard Estes ou Jean-François Debord) à un grand nombre d'oeuvres. Et force est de constater que même les premières affiches publicitaires commandées, au-delà du message qu'elles étaient censées évoquer, prenaient l'allure de véritables oeuvres d'art. C'est ainsi que des peintres et des photographes ont représenté des publicités Coca-Cola et que la marque continue encore aujourd'hui à faire appel à des artistes contemporains pour véhiculer leur image. La bouteille de Coca-Cola semble ainsi être devenue une icône significative du XXe siècle à l'égal du visage de Marylin...

Le lieu

L’amour de l’art transforme les gens et les lieux, c’est bien connu. Ainsi un atelier de menuiserie ancré dans l’un des plus vieux quartiers ouvriers niçois et qui a vu défiler au cours des décennies des teinturiers, menuisiers et ébénistes, a fait peau neuve et a mis le cap vers de nouvelles aventures artistiques. Il a fallu la volonté de quelques passionnés et collectionneurs comme Robert ROUX (Bleu de France), Jean Jacques CHAUBARD (Vision Future), Thierry CASTILLO ( QUENTIN Promotion) pour donner un nouvel élan à ce lieu de 300m2 niché en fond de cour. Une aventure palpitante dont la direction et la promotion est assurée par Véronique PAGES.
La Menuiserie n’est pas une galerie, mais un “centre d’art” permettant d’exposer des artistes débutants ou reconnus, certains ont même été logés sur place pour réaliser leur travail, mais également de réaliser des performances dans le domaine des arts plastiques, ainsi que de la musique, la littérature ou de la philosophie... Bref un “lieu d’art”, tout sauf mondain sans autre prétention que de faire découvrir des artistes et partager la passion de ses initiateurs....
